Mountain lions are known for being stealthy and powerful predators that often hunt at night. A common misconception is that these big cats dislike water as much as a typical house cat, but they are, in fact, capable swimmers. Check out this video posted by OutdoorHub, which proves cougars aren’t water shy at all.

Mountain lions are opportunistic predators and will eat animals such as seals, otters, and young sea lions when the opportunity presents itself. It might be for this reason that fishing guide Graham Nielsen saw a mountain lion paddling off Vancouver Island.
