If you harass wildlife, bad things might happen.

This snowmobiler was riding down a trail, and came across a moose. Now, it’s no secret that moose are aggressive animals. Knowing that, it’s best to leave them alone.

But instead of turning his snowmobile around, this man tries to scare the moose off. Actually, harass might be a better word. After all, he could have easily circled wide around the animal.

What ended up happening was the moose had enough of the harassment and retaliated. Unfortunately, the man saw no other out than to shoot the animal. Watch how this unfortunate incident played out.

  1. He should be jailed for killing an animal that was in its habitat. We are the intruders. Animal was living and he was joy riding.

    • While he did not handle the situation properly, he definitely shouldn’t be jailed for defending his life after making a poor decision. A grown moose can easily kill a man. It may have been his own doing, but his life was definitely at risk.

      • The state of Maine he would go to jail for kill the moose and leaving it to waste out there like that. Never mind the fact that he didn’t back off to leave the animal alone, he should have known better then to get as close as he did to begin with never mind shooting. Then leaving the meat to go to waste live that is criminal offence in Maine. During or not hunting season.

      • He should have waited for the moose to move or turn around.Even if the moose attacked him you don’t put 2-4 handgun rounds in it and let it sit there suffering. What a waste of an animal, where I live he would be in jail.

  2. This is sad. I am a avid outdoorsman and hunter.. There was no reason to shoot the moose.. He should have not crowded him and he probably would have moved on.. Should have been prosecuted for poaching..

  3. Where I come from, that is totally illegal. He should waited the moose out at a safe distance.I live where there are moose, and have on quite few ocations come in contact with them and that is what I do.Yes they are agresive, and if I’m ‘not hunting them,I give them a wide birth. The individual im this case kept crowding the moose, and that what caused this situation.

  4. I am sooooo pissed after watching this clip!!!!!! Obviously this S.O.B has zero patience this moose was far enough away from where he first stopped to turn around or just sit a minute so the animal could move off on its own. This bonehead is at total fault for harassing wildlife and poaching in my opinion and should be hung out to dry! His lack of intelligence, patience and judgment make me ill, no way in hell is this man a sportsman. He better hope that next time he’s holding up traffic the guy behind him shows him more patience and self control than he did for this moose! I really hope you will post an update on this to put true sportsman who view this at ease knowing that this crap will not be tolerated.

  5. In my opinion he could have found a way around and to top it off after shooting the poor animal he did a runner and it was clear the beast was not dead he could have at least made sure it was dead before doing a runner he should not be allowed to get away with such behaviour and be charged with cruelty.

  6. The poor guy was a city boy for sure.

Obviously he was used to seeing animals up close, penned up in a cage behind a fence.
We have to remember that some people out there are not skilled dealing with wild animals. I’m sure in his own mind he felt threatened to the point where he made the foolish city boy decision to take the animal’s life.

I think he should watch some video of grizzly encounters that are much more provocative than this, where the bear and human encounter is diffused by a wise and educated Outdoorsman.

  7. Clearly no outdoor sense at all, he created the entire situation, should never have come to that, and he should be prosecuted. People like that should stay inside.

  8. This asshat should be arrested for poaching, illegal discharge of a firearm, harassing wildlife and leaving an animal after killing it.

This idiot should NEVER own a firearm, skidoo or hunting permit for the rest of his miserable life.

  9. What a coward. I’ve had 2 very similar close encounters with bears while armed with a high powered hunting rifle. I never fired a shot despite their aggressive stance. I was in their space just like he was, so I slowly removed myself while yelling. The bears were apparently ok with that and left me alone. Now if I was an Asshole and kept approaching them like that guy, the bears rightfully would have been unhappy and attacked. Throw the book at that guy,
