Black bears, like African lions, practice infanticide, in which a marauding male will kill the newborn cubs so that the female will come into estrous and breed again.

For this reason, a female bear must teach its young to climb a tree for survival if a male bear approaches. As cute as this video from the Outdoor Hub is to watch, it’s a matter of life and death for the cubs. Check it out:
